Can the assistant change anything in Ceviche?

No. Every tool is read-only (see the Tools reference). Ceviche MCP can't create, edit, approve, allocate, invoice, post, void or delete anything, in Ceviche or in any accounting system, and it can't move money. No setting turns writing on.

Can it see another fund's or another customer's data?

No. A connection reads only your own team, as you, with your permissions. Ceviche checks this on every request, in the database itself as well as in our MCP server.

Does a viewer see less than an admin?

Each person sees what their own account can see in the app. Everyone, viewers included, can connect, and the connection is read-only for everyone.

Does the assistant see my password?

No. You sign in on Ceviche's own page. The assistant only receives a read-only pass for your team, which expires and can be revoked.

Do I need to set this up for each assistant?

Yes, once per assistant app. Claude on the web, the desktop app and mobile count as one. Claude Code can reuse the Ceviche MCP you added in claude.ai. Each connection shows as its own row in Linked Accounts.

Does connecting connect my whole team?

No. Each person connects their own assistant and signs in with their own account. On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds Ceviche MCP for the organization, but that shares nothing until each person signs in.

How fresh is the data?

Live. Every lookup reads Ceviche at that moment. Each answer carries the time it was read, and things the assistant builds end with an "As of" line.

Is it accurate?

Totals are computed by Ceviche over every matching record, and come back with a check that the groups add up and that every split ties. The assistant is told to use those figures and never add up rows itself. It is still an AI writing the answer, so for anything you'll sign off on, follow the Open in Ceviche link or ask what the total covers.

Does it work with QuickBooks Online or NetSuite?

Not yet. Today it reads teams whose books are kept in Ceviche itself, with no accounting system connected. Teams on QuickBooks Online or NetSuite, or with card spend from Ramp, can connect but can't read their records through it yet. See Limits.

Does it work with ChatGPT?

Yes. Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT work today. Codex is coming. See Other assistants.

Does it cost anything?

Ask your Ceviche contact about your plan. Your assistant's own plan, such as a Claude subscription, is separate.

Is my data used to train AI models?

Ceviche MCP doesn't send anything to an AI provider on its own. It only answers the lookups your assistant makes. What your assistant's provider does with the conversation, training included, is set by your agreement with that provider and your plan's settings. Ceviche's own commitments are in the privacy policy at https://www.ceviche.ai/privacy. See How your data is handled.

What does Ceviche log?

One line per lookup: who, which team, which assistant app, which tool, how many records, how long it took, and whether it worked. Not your questions, not the search terms, not the records returned. See How your data is handled.

Can it read attached receipts and invoices?

It lists attachments by file name, type and size. It never returns the files themselves.

What about my fiscal year?

Quarters and years are calendar periods. Give fiscal dates explicitly, such as "July 2025 to June 2026", and the assistant will use them.

How do I stop it?

Disconnect it in Ceviche under Linked Accounts > Connections, or in your assistant. See Disconnect and revoke access.

Who do I ask for help?

See Support. For an introduction to Ceviche MCP, start at the overview.
