This page connects Claude on the web (claude.ai), the Claude desktop app and Claude for mobile. They share one set of connectors, so you connect once and Ceviche is there on all three. For Claude Code, see Other assistants.

Before you start

  • Ceviche MCP must be on for your team. If it isn't, sign-in stops with a message saying so. See Turn it on for your team.
  • You need your Ceviche sign-in: the email and password you use for app.ceviche.ai.
  • Any Claude plan works: Free, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise. On the Free plan, Claude allows one custom connector.
  • On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds Ceviche MCP first. Members can't add a custom connector themselves. Once an Owner has added it, each member connects with their own Ceviche account.

The URL to add, exactly as written:

https://app.ceviche.ai/api/mcp

Paste it with the /api/mcp path and no slash at the end. Claude checks the address letter for letter.

On a Free, Pro or Max plan

  1. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors (on the web, https://claude.ai/customize/connectors; in the desktop app, select Customize in the sidebar, then Connectors).
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Ceviche and paste the URL above.
  4. Leave the sign-in settings at their defaults (see Sign-in settings). Don't enter an OAuth client ID, a secret or any request headers.
  5. Click Add. With Sign in now, Claude starts the sign-in straight away. If it doesn't, click Connect next to Ceviche.
  6. Sign in to Ceviche and approve access (see Sign in and approve).

On a Team or Enterprise plan

An Owner adds it once, for the organization:

  1. Go to Organization settings > Connectors (https://claude.ai/admin-settings/connectors).
  2. Select Add, then Custom. If Claude asks for the connector type, choose Web.
  3. Name it Ceviche and paste the URL above. Leave the OAuth client ID and secret empty.
  4. Click Add.

Adding Ceviche MCP doesn't connect anyone or share any data. Each person still signs in to Ceviche with their own account. On Enterprise plans, a member whose custom role includes managing the organization's libraries can add it too.

Then each member connects:

  1. Go to Customize > Connectors.
  2. Find Ceviche, which has the Custom label.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Sign in to Ceviche and approve access (see Sign in and approve).

Sign-in settings

Depending on your organization, Claude's add dialog shows everything on one screen, with an Advanced settings section, or asks in two steps. Either way, keep the defaults:

SettingChoose
AuthenticationSign in now
OAuth clientUse Claude's published identity
Advanced settings, client ID and secretLeave empty
Request headersNone

Ceviche supports Claude's published identity, so there is nothing to register or paste. If your dialog only offers Register automatically, that works too.

Claude doesn't let you change these settings after Ceviche MCP is added. To change them, remove it and add it again.

Sign in and approve

After you click Connect, a Ceviche page opens. On claude.ai it opens in the same tab; from the desktop app it opens in your browser.

  1. Sign in to Ceviche with your usual email and password. If the browser is already signed in to Ceviche, this step is skipped.

  2. Check the consent page. It reads:

Claude wants read-only access to Example Ventures

with your team's name in place of Example Ventures. Under it:

    • Signed in as your email, with a Not you? link. If the email isn't yours, click Not you?, sign in with the right account, and the page comes back.
    • Read your team's data, the list of what Claude will be able to read: transactions, corrections, invoices, notes and attachments, entities and funds, allocations, vendors, approvals, policies and members. Each item says what is left out, for example "never the files" and "never bank details".
    • Requested by claude.ai, the address Claude's sign-in will return to.
  3. Click Allow. The page shows Connected and sends you back to Claude. If you click Deny, Claude gets no access and nothing is shared.

The consent page stays valid for 10 minutes. If you leave it open longer, Allow answers "This page has expired". Start again from Claude.

Your password never goes to Claude. You type it on Ceviche's own page, and Claude only receives a pass that allows read-only access to your team.

Check that it worked

In a new chat, ask:

Using Ceviche, who am I connected as, and what's in our books?

Claude should answer with your name, your role, your team, and a short summary of your records: how many bills, the dates they cover, the currencies. See Your first questions for what to ask next.

In a chat, the + button in the message box, then Connectors, shows a toggle for Ceviche. It controls whether Claude can use Ceviche in that conversation.

Tool permissions

Claude shows Ceviche's five tools as Read-only, and can run read-only tools without asking each time. You can still choose, per tool or for all of them, Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked in Ceviche MCP's settings under Customize > Connectors. If Claude asks before a tool runs, Allow once lets that call through and Always allow stops the question for that tool.

Disconnecting

From Claude: Customize > Connectors, then Ceviche, then Disconnect (signs Claude out of Ceviche) or Remove (takes Ceviche MCP off your account). From Ceviche: Linked Accounts > Connections. See Disconnect and revoke access.
